New University Technical College for Swindon

Fifteen  new University Technical Colleges (UTCs) have today been approved to open in 2013 and 2014.

Swindon has been designated as one such UTC.  See the DfE website link below  for full details.

Ofsted : Most secondary schools aren't good enough

As part of the new framework for school inspections in 2012  using a "back-to-basics" approach, Ofsted report that more than 6 out of 10 secondary schools inspected under the new regime since January 2012 were judged not good enough. Head Teachers leaders (NAHT) express some concern at the paradigm.  Source  The Telegraph 4/5/2012
